As part of our world book day celebrations, all the pupils took part in Achievement For All’s 100 million minute reading challenge. Lots of schools across the country took part to see if children could read for 100 million minutes. In just one week, children at Gotham Primary School, managed to read for 18,897 minutes at home! This is an amazing achievement! The winning house team, with the highest number of minutes, was Jupiter with 5136 minutes. Well done team Jupiter!
In Beech class we have been studying the book “What the ladybird heard” for book week!
We have done lots of exciting activities like directing a ladybird using left and right, painting a page from the book, and using laptops to retell the story to people.
We made masks and role-played the story to an audience!
In DT we have been experimenting with different ways to make moving pictures. Lots of us chose to make a slider or a pivot using a split pin.
We had lots of design ideas and then mad our favourite one!
This half term we have been taught how to street dance by a company called ‘Rattle n Roll!’
We LOVED learning lots of new dance moves and putting them together with attitude and expression!
This term our Novel study book is ‘Into the Forest’ by Anthony Browne.
We started the term by guessing what the book could be. We found clues and discussed fairy tales which could be linked to this book! Eventually we opened a parcel and saw the book that we were studying!
