This half term our creative homework choices included baking biscuits and writing instructions on how to make them, creating a map of our route to school, explaining how to look after a pet, creating a story box of our favourite story, finding 3d shapes around the house and writing about our oldest toy! We have been very busy designing, making and sharing our work to an audience!
Our defibrillator is here and ready to use if we ever need to use it (hopefully not!)
Gotham staff have now taken part in CPR and defibrillator training thanks to SADS UK and East Midlands Ambulance Service. We are all feeling much more confident about using this life-saving equipment if we ever had to!
This half term Mr Tinsley has been running after school Multi-sports clubs for KS1 and KS2 children.
The children got to choose what sports they would like to focus on and developed their skills throughout the 6 weeks.
The children competed against each other in small teams to put their skills in to practise!
What a school full of big hearts and generous people! In just a few weeks we managed to raise £1332.65 for our very own school defibrillator! We had a ‘red day’ and a sponsored walk/run around our track to raise all this money. The children chose to run 1, 3 or 5 miles and were sponsored along the way!
Mrs Hargreaves and all the other staff are very proud of the children’s efforts (and the family and friend’s who supported them!)
Hopefully the equipment will never need to be used to save a life, but we are prepared just in case.
The staff will shortly be having training to use the defib from EMAS.
WELL DONE TEAM GOTHAM! THANK YOU!
Today everyone at Gotham Primary School dressed up in red clothes to support our campaign to buy our own school defibrillator. We had some amazing outfits and crazy hair styles to add some fun to the event!
Incredibly we raised over £240 in one day and have also raised over £340 in sponsorships on our Just Giving page already! So we are already £580 in to our £1100 target!
Thank you to all the children, staff and parents for their support so far. What a small school full of big hearts! Please continue to sponsor the children for their sponsored run or walk which will take place during the week beginning 6th March. 🙂
During December in Beech Class lots of exciting things happened; we performed our Christmas Play, It’s a Party, we had our Christmas party, went on our Christmas bauble walk and also had our homework show and tell! This time for our creative homework we wrote instructions on how to brush our teeth, created information posters on our favourite animals, sketched our favourite teddy’s, made story maps of a favourite story, created christmas decorations and created posters on number bonds. We spent lots of time creating, making and showing our homework!
