This half term our creative homework choices included baking biscuits and writing instructions on how to make them, creating a map of our route to school, explaining how to look after a pet, creating a story box of our favourite story, finding 3d shapes around the house and writing about our oldest toy! We have been very busy designing, making and sharing our work to an audience!
This term we are studying the book “Paddington” as our novel study.
So far we have been describing the characters and have discussed their personalities.
We made marmalade sandwiches so we could write instructions on how to make them! Eating them was our favourite part believe it or not!!
As part of our RE unit of work, we have been learning about religious celebrations.
We studied the Hindu festival of lights, DIWALI. To celebrate we made clay diva lamps and decorated them with bright colours and jewels.
As part of our whole school DINOSAUR WEEK we went on a trip to Wollaton Hall to see the Chinese dinosaur exhibition there.
We had a great day exploring the different models and fossils!
Our defibrillator is here and ready to use if we ever need to use it (hopefully not!)
Gotham staff have now taken part in CPR and defibrillator training thanks to SADS UK and East Midlands Ambulance Service. We are all feeling much more confident about using this life-saving equipment if we ever had to!
This half term Mr Tinsley has been running after school Multi-sports clubs for KS1 and KS2 children.
The children got to choose what sports they would like to focus on and developed their skills throughout the 6 weeks.
The children competed against each other in small teams to put their skills in to practise!
