Islands from Kensuke’s Kingdom

As part of their novel study, children in Maple class made islands based on the book Kensuke’s Kingdom. They collected information from the book on what the island might look like and its shape, and then we made our own. These islands were then used for a descriptive piece of writing about an island setting. Our writing was very detailed and imaginative.

HIIT workout!

The children in Sycamore and Maple classes have been taking part in HIIT sessions to improve their fitness. Not only is it helping them with their fitness and coordination, but also confidence and enjoyment of active sessions. At the end of the lesson, the teachers can see lots of red, sweaty but smiling faces!

Maple class Antibullying week

As part of our work in anti-bullying week, the children in Maple class thought about what cyber bullying was and how we can always stay safe online. We started by thinking about what cyber bullying

is, the different forms it can take and then how we would teach others to say no to bullying and how to stay safe online.

Hagg Farm 2018

Children in Years 5 and 6 had a brilliant week at Hagg farm! We went abseiling, canoeing, rock scrambling and climbing, as well as eating marshmallows by the fire pit and watching films in the evening. All the staff and children had an amazing (yet tiring!) week and we have memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to all the staff at Hagg Farm and thank you to the children, who were so incredibly well-behaved, polite and smiley throughout.

Well done Maple Class!

A big well done to Maple Class who have completed their SATS tests this week! You have all worked so incredibly hard and your attitude has been fantastic – you were all positive and enthusiastic. Here’s a photograph of you all having a well-deserved treat 🙂
