Hello and welcome to Willow Class!
We are Year 3 children who are always eager to learn new things. Our teacher is Mrs Magirr and our TA is Mrs Roberts.
Have a look at some of the exciting things we have been learning about!
Today some of KS2 took part in an after-school Athletics competition. Children from Years 3-6 competed against each other to see who could throw the Javelin the furthest, and they also took part in a long distance running race on our school track.
Well done to Ellis who won the Javelin competition with a distance of over 14 metres!!
And Well done to Jess who won the 400m long distance running race!
A super effort from everyone!
Our defibrillator is here and ready to use if we ever need to use it (hopefully not!)
Gotham staff have now taken part in CPR and defibrillator training thanks to SADS UK and East Midlands Ambulance Service. We are all feeling much more confident about using this life-saving equipment if we ever had to!
This half term Mr Tinsley has been running after school Multi-sports clubs for KS1 and KS2 children.
The children got to choose what sports they would like to focus on and developed their skills throughout the 6 weeks.
The children competed against each other in small teams to put their skills in to practise!
What a school full of big hearts and generous people! In just a few weeks we managed to raise £1332.65 for our very own school defibrillator! We had a ‘red day’ and a sponsored walk/run around our track to raise all this money. The children chose to run 1, 3 or 5 miles and were sponsored along the way!
Mrs Hargreaves and all the other staff are very proud of the children’s efforts (and the family and friend’s who supported them!)
Hopefully the equipment will never need to be used to save a life, but we are prepared just in case.
The staff will shortly be having training to use the defib from EMAS.
WELL DONE TEAM GOTHAM! THANK YOU!
Some children in Key Stage 2 went to a Multisports Festival at the Lee Westwood Sports Centre in March. They showed great teamwork skills as they completed team challenges, and impressed us with the way they represented Gotham Primary! Well done to all who took part!
