Gotham Primary School, Kegworth Road, Gotham, Nottingham NG11 0JS

Welcome Information

Gotham Primary is a great place to work and learn!

Our school is situated in the picturesque village of Gotham in south Nottinghamshire, and is very close to the Leicestershire and Derbyshire borders, and to the M1 and East Midlands Airport. We serve the rural villages of Gotham, Barton-in-Fabis, Thrumpton and New Kingston and are also popular with families from out of our immediate catchment area.

Gotham Primary School is attended by children aged from 4 to 11. They come to us from a range of pre-school settings, mainly Gotham Pre-school Playgroup, the Co-op Day Nursery and Toybox Childminding in our village. We work with all our pre-school settings to ensure that the transition arrangements for starting school are supportive and effective.

Our school is very welcoming and friendly. All staff work as a team, and everyone’s contribution and work is valued equally. The parents work in partnership with us to secure the best we can jointly offer to all our pupils. There is a parent association, The Friends of Gotham School, who provide a very active and strong support for the school. The curriculum is supported by numerous enrichment opportunities and residential experiences for older pupils.

Our Mission Statement

BEING THE BEST WE CAN BE TOGETHER!

At Gotham Primary School we are proud to provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment where every member of our community is valued and respected. Our broad, balanced, creative curriculum and enrichment activities provide opportunities for everyone to achieve and succeed.

We celebrate our achievements, differences and cultural diversity, irrespective of individual differences within the protected categories of the Equality Act of 2010. Together we take pride in making a positive contribution to our school and the wider community.

Our large site offers a rich variety of experience for our children. At Gotham Primary, we understand the importance of happy playtimes and we have made it a priority to develop a wide range of play equipment and apparatus for break times. We have two playground areas, a trim trail, a performance arena and seating shelters. We have a larger than average field with shrubs and trees around the perimeter, providing shaded social areas for the children to enjoy. The whole of our site is surrounded by security fencing, and during the school day access is gained via a gate controlled remotely by the school reception office.

As a member of the East Leake Family of Schools, we have excellent close links with six other local primary schools, and our pupils benefit from the collaboration across the family of schools.

At the end of Key Stage 2, most of our children move to East Leake Academy, in the neighbouring village of East Leake, and a few go to other local secondary schools in areas such as Loughborough, Keyworth or West Bridgford.
